Class Description

In this class, we'll traverse the turbulent years of the late 20th century and visit sites important to the Civil Rights Movement.  Starting from Dr. Martin Luther King's birthplace in Atlanta, we'll stop at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery where, from the pulpit, Dr. King helped lead the Montgomery bus boycott, travel the March from Selma to Montgomery, visit the National Civil Rights Museum in the Lorraine Motel, and conclude at the Smithsonian's newest venue, the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC.
